Hello. Tuesday it is.

Answers

It is, indeed.

So sorry about the Austin bid. That sucks.

ARGH!! I'm stupid. Sorry! I didn't see this thread. Delete the other, please.

Yo! The T!

How was the Jayhawks show? Poor Chris A. told me that he only made it until about 11:30.

The weekend was very good. Busy, but very good. Oh - I got the most BEAUTIFUL monogrammed sheets and towels. I swear, it's worth getting married if only for monogrammed sheets and towels.

I updated HYD and the server went down. Nice. Now no one can read my words of genius. It's probably for the best.

Do noms close today for Diarist? Who did y'all vote for? I had a hard time - except for my MATH votes, of course.

1. I read your words of genius last night, Ms. Jiffy Pop.

2. Yes, noms close today, at midnight! Have you nominated already? I had a hard time, too. Who, exactly, writes a new journal? I voted for bestlaidplans.org, because she has gymnastics videos on her site. See how arbitrary I am? Most of my other noms were MATH, except for one entry of Dana's that I love, and one of Jessamyn's. We're so cliquish. Anybody got something in particular they want nominated? I'll do it.

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2002

I didn't even nominate for a best new - just overall, design, writing and legacy. (Shelley.) (And for overall and writing I nominated 2 in each, or something.) I also nominated Jessamyn's engagement one for best romantic. I nominated Mike's anthrax one for best news event or whatever, and also because that's like the only entry he has that's in the timeframe. Silly Mike.

AB - if you don't win best design this time, I WILL throw down.

Where would one get monogrammed sheets?

What did your parents think of Edna and Gene?

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2002

Also, I can't remember what else I nominated.

Aaaaand, how can we spice up +1? Anyone got a great new question?

And also, y'all have seen The Royal Tenebaums, right? It's amazing.

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2002

I'm going to try to see the Royal Tennenbaums this weekend. I'm looking forward to it - Rushmore is one of my favorite movies, ever.

Y'all, Meloonsa is dumb. Dumb! On her blog, she actually said that Clinton was impeached. Impeached! I had no choice but to comment. (Comment!)

HYD no like me - I can't read the next-to-most-recent entry.

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2002

But wait. Clinton WAS impeached. By the House.

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2002

Clinton certainly was impeached, if by "impeached", you mean "charged." He wasn't thrown out of office, which is a common misinterpretation of the word, but he was technically impeached. It's true. I read it on the Internet.

I always, always forget that you can nominate more than one person in the same category! Thanks for reminding me, H. And I still have time to do that!

I nominated Jessie's engagement entry, too, but I nominated Rob for Legacy. I'm going to continue to do so until he gets it.

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2002

See, I thought that he had. But then I remembered that the dumb Heather got it.

Al - your entry was good. You ran juuuuust far enough with the metaphor. And I almost spit out my yougurt at the Tri Omega Alpha Kappa Sig alum thing. (Or whatever.) Also the eternal internal kernal.

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2002

Aw, shit. I should have read that William Safire column, after all. At any rate, it will be interesting to see if Meloonsa responds. "CLINToN DIDN"T KILL HIS dOG!@!!"

One would get monogrammed sheets from the McKay's. Or, you can take a set of sheets to a monogram place. Miss Manners did a column on monogram overkill this past weekend. As in, if your shirt cuffs are monogrammed, you shouldn't wear monogrammed cufflinks, too.

My sister Jane was all, "I can't wait to live with you this summer so I can use those towels!" It will be very easy to shop for her birthday in February. She's all excited about Mardi Gras being on her birthday - in 2008. But, in 2010, it's on Chris' birthday.

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2002

Yeah, she told me about that like 3 years ago! Why is she living in ATL this summer? So that means in 2010, MG will be very late then.

I read that Miss Manners column. Al has nice monogrammed sheets. I want some.

Tell about Edna and Gene!

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2002

I always go just far enough, yo.

Dammit, Teri. That thwarts my plans for your wedding present! Ah, hell. I'll do it anyway. You can't have too many sheets with your monogram on them. I'll just get you a different style monogram, or something. I mean, I hate to tell you what I'm getting you, but I already bought the damn sheets.

I think T is avoiding the Edna/Bonnie discussion. Come on fool, tell!

Eric and I joke that our dads would get along famously, because besides having that whole infidelity thing in common, they can talk about engines.

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2002

Man, HYD is down AGAIN. Lord. It was back up for like, an hour.

Yes, T, do tell.

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2002

It hasn't been up for me all morning...but maybe I didn't try at the right time. Tell Sonya to get on the ball!

I am saddened that I never received monogrammed sheets for our wedding. My mom did give me a monogrammed shower curtain and hand towels. Do you think I could put them on my bed?

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2002

Is this on?

I finally got back all my xmas and new year's photos. There are some pictures of the Little Peep in there that actually break my heart.

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2002

Al! That's so nice of you! I love love love the monogrammed sheets.

Edna/Gene/Bonnie/Bob was gret. Edna said that she'd never been treated so well in someone's home, ever. I was like, "damn, Edna, you need to make better friends!" Gene and my dad spent five hours at the D-Day Museum and they STILL didn't finish in time to go through the whole Pacific wing. We ate etouffe and corn and crab soup, and on Sunday night we went to Commander's where we ate the best turtle soup ever and got all these desserts because Jane's friend was hostessing, and then we got to tour the kitchen.

The shower was good - it's kind of like an out of body experience, though. Does that make sense?

Hi all!

Hopefully my FTP problems will go away soon. My site just looks sad.

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2002

M to the I-K-E!

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2002

Mike - do you want monogrammed sheets, too?

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2002

Hey Mike!

T - I'm glad you had a good weekend. Did you come back yesterday?

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2002

T - does Leigha still send out notifies? Bc I haven't gotten one in forever, yet she's updating. Maybe Flaya took me off. Scandalous.

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2002

Mike - do you want monogrammed sheets, too?

Doesn't everyone?

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2002

Mike, if you give me monogrammed sheets, I'll give you monogrammed sheets.

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2002

I'll get back to you.

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2002

Sadness.

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2002

AB, I give you initial Tiffany keyring! You want whole world!

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2002

Chris's sister has the Tiffany initial neclace with the "f" (for her married name) - we were talking about the necklace and she promised me that she'd tell Chris that I would just absolutely need the tiffany "a" initial necklace after we were married.

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2002

Al, I no ask you to give! I love magical keyring.

So what, I want whole world? I deserve. Lin Chao say so.

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2002

Thank golly it's past 5.

Everyone's done their nominating, yes?

-- Anonymous, January 15, 2002

I have done mine! Mostly last night, and a few today.
