Dougal, read your e-mail.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

But in case you haven't yet, the gist is that Screach can't make the Leicester game, so he's posting his ticket to me cos he couldn't contact you.

If you want it, let me know, preferably before Thursday, or at least by telephone - nos. in the e-mail - so we can arrange a meet in Leicester on Saturday before the game.

Full details in the e-mail.

Is this a tease, you rotten buggers?

Bill, pet, I've checked me e mail and there isn't anything from you or Screach...try lyndawright@hotmail.com

-- Anonymous, January 14, 2002

My mistake kiddo, wrong e-mail address - probably an old one from way back. Should be on the way now.

Actually Pit Bill, you used the one Dougal displays on here. Sorry Miss Terious, I'd already sent the ticket to PB before I saw your request, otherwise it would have been yours.

Screach - it's an active account so there shouldn't have been any issues with it.

Pit Bill/Dougal. Did you take Screachers ticket, or can I weep openly in an attempt to take it off you. I got an offer of 1, but I need 2, not neccessarily together. Ungrateful I know, but I promised someone I would get 2 tickets, and now I'm caught between the proverbial rock and a hard place. Failing that it's the Leicester fans end for us.

Jonboy, can you hold it just for a very short while until Dougal says yes or no? Hopefully Dougal will be quick. Dougal, I've got my fingers crossed. In any event I'vegot to sort it out early this morning 'cos I'll need to get the Leicester end tickets before they go as well.

Mysterious, you're on.

-- Anonymous, January 16, 2002

Dougal, I love you. Email me with your address, and I'll email mine back, plus I'll get a cheque off immediately. Let me know how much. Jonboy, read your emails, but ditto my comments to Dougal. Thanks to both of you. I owe you one (fnarr fnarr)

Mysterious, the ticket is now in Pit Bill's custody so I think he'll meet you on Saturday but best to check with him... Yer better bring us 3 points ;)

-- Anonymous, January 16, 2002

Pit Bill, where and when? I'm travelling North with a mate, so let me know how I can get hold of the ticket. If you want to mail it that's okay, but it needs to be sent today. That tickets probably travelled further than Paddington bear. Thanks.

Terry,
If you want the ticket before Saturday, you'll have to come up with something quick. You can e-mail me at the address on the thread.

Problem is, we're travelling to Leicester tomorrow afternoon, so it might be worth sorting out a meet at a pub or outside the ground in case of snags.

The complication is that the seats for which I have the two tickets are next to one another, and I understand that you'd have liked two together. I don't mind taking the ticket you have, but me leaving tomorrow will make a postal exchange a bit risky for me.

On that basis, I'd prefer a meet for the swap, unless you're happy to have separated seats, in which case I'll post the spare. Give me as much as you like - phone numbers, address etc, via e-mail.

You're actually dead jammy because the whole point of me taking the ticket from Screacher was because I already had a buyer. Unfortunately, he has to work Saturday, hence me coming back on here on spec to check.

Originally, it seemed the right thing to do to give Dougal a chance to change her mind about not going, before giving my buyer a definite yes. It's unfortunate the impression came across that the second ticket was a definite spare. Luckily, it seems to have turned out okay.

It was a worry to see all this wheeling and dealing going on behind my back, though, because if this work thing hadn't come up, making the second ticket spare, I might not have checked onto this thread again.

Anyway, let's know how you want handle this, and we'll take it from there.

I'm ever so pleased that I have been blissfully ignorant of the aggro I have caused behind the scenes with my relentless pursuit of a ticket (or two). It won't happen again, for a while, and at least one of my two season tickets will be available for the home games pre Arsenal, if either PB or Dougs (or anyone else) wants to take advantage of them. However, all's well that ends well (cue Shagspeare, stage left). See you Saturday PB.
