adding to the thread below, which frameline pops up when you mount a summicron-c/rokkor 40mm on a m6ttl?

The 50mm, like on the Leica CL.

The lens can be modified to bring up the 35mm frameline, but it's a permanent fix. Someone on this site gave me good advice on doing it myself, to my 40mm CLE Rokkor. It worked.

peter: could you post the link to do the fix?

Don't "fix" it! 40 closer to 50 than 35. Anyway, you can always crop a picture; you cannot add to it.

Alex, are you sure 40mm is closer to 50 then 35? In term of degree, it maybe, but on the job 40mm is closer to 35mm.

Ciao, Domenico

Actually, the 40mm lens is far closer to the 35mm lens in terms of frameline accuracy. As a matter of fact, the reason I put a 40mm Rokkor on my Hexar RF (I modified the lens to bring up the 35mm frameline)is because the lens corresponds almost perfectly to the 35 framline. That's because the Hexar frame only shows about 85% of the actual image area (the Leica M is closer to 90%). I checked frameline accuracy against a ground glass that I used on the Hexar: at 15 ft. and further the 35mm frameline shows the exact field of view for the 40mm lens; at closer than 15ft. it cuts off a bit. Stefan, I'll try to find that posting for you.

Dont forget Voigtlander have a very nice 40mm finder made just for using that lens on non CL/CLE cameras.
