Squinting?

Are you two inches away from your monitor trying to read icons and Windows text? One thing that might help is increasing the Windows font size for windows and icons. To do this, right-click your desktop and select properties. Select the Settings tab, and click the advanced button. From the drop-down menu, select Large Icons and click apply. You may be prompted to restart your computer.

Custom Headers And Footers In IE 6

Weird Screens

Many Windows users have changed the resolution and number of colors, only to be presented with a screen that looks great but is either stretched off the sides of the monitor or has black-edged margins much too large. These kinds of changes require resizing the monitor's screen. Refer to your monitor's manual and play around for a while. One important note: make sure that you set the Windows refresh rate to the monitor's manufacturer's specifications. Having refresh rates outside the suggested parameters may permanently damage your monitor.

- Michael Vincent In the last tip, we discussed how to eliminate headers in IE printouts. This time, let's look at how you can create custom headers and footers.

To create custom headers and footers, you need to know the correct codes to enter in the "Header" and "Footer" entry boxes. To display the list, click the question mark (?) in the upper right corner next to the Close box. The mouse pointer will become a question mark. With this pointer, click in the "header" entry box. A list of all the commands opens. You can combine these commands to create exactly what you want to print as headers and footers.

When the Options dialog box opens, click the Compose tab. Now, under "Stationery" select the check box labeled "Mail." Click Select and double-click the stationery you want to use. Click OK to close the dialog box and apply your stationery selection.
