PLEASE HELP!! DVD player and VCD's

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I made a video CD with Pinnacle Studio version 7, then I burned it on to a CD-R. My DVD player said that it plays VCD's. I was looking through the DVD's user guide and it said the following discs cannot be used on this player: Laserdiscs, CD-I, CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW, and DVD-ROM. What type of disc do I need and where do I get them?

Thanks, Tom Dolan

Your DVD player can't, even by hook or crook, play CD-R, which is what you used to burn your VCD with. If you are going to get any more serious about making your own VCDs a more appropriate question should be "what type of DVD player should I get?" You should get one that certifiably & reliably recognizes CD-R and CD-RW. You don't go by claims and labels; you create your own audio CD on CD-R/RW and use that to test set-tops in the store.
