I have a surplus of worms available if anyone is interested in vermiculture. I will sell a 1.25lb package of bed run (includes a few hundred breeders, as well as the bedding material which includes hatchlings and egg capsules) to CS readers and forum participants only, for $10, which includes the cost of shipping by Priority mail. These are yellow-tail worms, which are good for both composting and for use as fishing bait. They are smaller than manure worms, but they are much more active and better for bait. They will reproduce quickly once established in a bin or bed. Instructions included.

Can these guys live through a hot compost pile, or are you refering to kitchen composting?

Generally, worms will not stay in a hot compost pile- they will either die, or else may migrate away from the heat.
