Away matche - loyalty points

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

I'm applying for a ticket for the Sunderland match using one of my vouchers. I realise that over 10,000 people will be doing the same thing and there will be only 2,000 seats. How do the ticket office choose who goes?

I know that at some clubs it's down to how many other away games you've been to, and you get points for each away match. The more points, the more chance of getting to away games. Is this the way it works at NUFC? Or is it pure luck?

+ When will I be able to hand this voucher in for the S'land match?

One last thing, Does anbody here go to the away matches on the offcial coaches?

It's down to points. Probably still an element of luck, but the loyaller (if that's a word) fans will be rewarded.

I think it's usually down to the handful of applications that they haven't already lost, Jim! ;o{]

I think it's down to a game of darts. ;-)

Oh, I thought it was bribery. Er, ......................................................... allegedly.

Jim, in my experience, it's down to how long the person has had the season ticket, helped along by whether they are a bondholder, followed by number of away games applied by, followed by the popularity of the fixture. I say this because I currently have three voucher books, two from quite elderly STs and one from a recent ST and I invariably get tix on the old ones and almost never for the new one.

PS. Jim, watch nufc.com for when to submit your application. I've never used an official coach although I think that they are more or less compulsory for the Makems game (ie. you don't have to use the official coach but you will be arrested on arriving in Sunderland as a possible hoolie if you don't).

Dougal's!! Talking of which/whom, the "youngster" in the ST threesome is a supplementary ST Dougal. Perhaps that also has summat to do with it. Ee, it'll be grand when I'm fully qualified.

How, man, I'm incorruptible.

However, if you want a ticket for the Makems, it's ten thousand in used notes plus a lift to the Leicester game!

I usually use Me Dad's platinum club ticket to apply for away matches, I think they get priority. Probably not fair, but hey it works for me !
