Rob Lee

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

According to icNewcastle, Roeder about to make a final offer for Rob. Fair enough but should he go, will it not leave us short in midfield? If the money is used to buy someone else then that's ok but I suspect there will be no major signings for the rest of the season.

Unfortunately everyone is buying except us, even the Makems are about to sign Carew I believe.

Reid's pulled out of buying Yorke because of his fine for drinking on New Year's Eve. This is because he can't drink as much as the players he already has. At least he's consistent.

LOL, Softie.

Just heard Reidy saying that he had enquired about Carew but that his fitness was an issue. However, he didn't rule out buying him.

he must be fitter than Quinn, although how would Carew feel about coming to Sunderland and having to sit on the bench cos Quinn has to be first choice

One of the things that i've read is that Carew feels that Sunderland is lacking ambitions and that the place itself is not very tempting. He'll probably end up in London....

Reidy was also discussing Laslandes, saying he just hadn't worked out. Can Soops tell me exactly how many first team starts Lilian had?

but not typos

Thanks, MacB: so in fact, the Makems didn't even give him a chance to show what he could do....

-- Anonymous, January 10, 2002

Au contraire Dougal. The second table is pretty damning. What could he do? Score one goal against Sheffield Wed!! No goals against a Premiership team. Says it all for me.

How the hell did a thread about Rob Lee get onto a second rate Sunderland striker who has gone on loan?

-- Anonymous, January 10, 2002

Well, we've got a player called French Bob, so named to distinguish him from Bobby Lee and Bobby R. Which put us in mind of Laslandes... 80)

Any relation to Two Bob?
