Another question about shopping for a r6.2. Thanks for all the responses in regard to gray/us versions!!!

A seller told me that the manufacturer rebate of $200 will be extended by Leica (apparently that ran out December 31st).

Does anyone have some data on that?

Leica USA has been extending or replacing their rebates with bigger rebates for the past I-forgot-how-many-years, but you could either call them in NJ or just wait and see. I wonder what with gray market, and people able to buy direct from dealers overseas, Leica USA might possibly gain by just letting the $200 rebates expire?

Addon question - when Leica, say, in April 2002 start the rebate program, does that apply to purchases made between January and April?

How was that handled with previous rebate programs?

I could convince myself to buy a new/leica passport camera now if I will be able to participate in the rebate program when it's started. I certainly wouldn't like to pay $200 more just before that starts again.
