Do you want another tele-zoom(100-400L)? A wider wideangle zoom (16- 35L)? A nicer portrait lens (135f2L)? A Macro Lens(180f3.5L)? A long tele(400f2.8L)?

I think you have it backwards. You should have a purpose and then find the lens to fulfill it.

A 1.4X teleconverter woohoo for the 70-200. It's great to carry an extra 80mm in your pocket and you end up with a 98-280 zoom. Way lighter and cheaper than a 300 f4 and IMHO just as good {if you are not printing 20X24} Or a 300 f2.8 IS. If you are going to get a 300 you might as well do it right.

A macro lens if you are into that sort of thing. Check out the 100mm.

If you are looking for a wide 16-35mm would be nice or a 20mm 2.8. I went with the 20 cause the 28-70mm was wide enough {I don't use wide angle alot} for most things and the 20 is smaller, way cheaper, and IMHO way sharper throughout than the 20-35 3.5-4.5 or 17-35 f2.8.

A fast lens close to the focal length you are used to. A 50 f1.8 is a very cheap and from what I have heard a very sharp lens. Or stick with an L series. Wouldn't a 50mm f1.0 be the coolest thing to have!

i think you should go for the 28-80 USM because it is a good light- weight travel lens. i recently traveled to pittsburgh with it and took some great shots, including one that won 1st place in a contest.

Kerwinchan, what do you want to do with your lenses? If you have a lot of money to spend you can get a 400 f/4 DO or a 600 f/4 IS for nature and sports photography. If you want to go wide there is the 15mm fisheye and the 14m f/2.8 L. Both excellent and sharp optics. If you are the prince of an oil rich country, there is the 1200mm f/5.6 L. But what do you want to do?

the prince of an oil rich country? haha!
