erasing tournaments scores from marp

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MAME Action Replay : One Thread

A lot of players (including me) are doing massive erasing of tournaments inputs (all t1,t2,t3,t4,t5 or k1,k2,o1,o1q ... entries) once tourney is over

Could we simply remove those entries from marp ? It would avoid waste of time for players who often uploaded several inp on the tourneys entries, it would lighten the "up" section which is full or "k2.. move to deleted" or so every day ; and anyway those standings don't mean something anymore as more than 50% inputs has already been erased

I could swear I told Zwaxy to find a way to remove games from the database... (you can tell that I can't do that, yet.)

Although I don't understand why they're deleting anyway...

Why remove the records? does this destroy the leaderboard inp.zip standings for tournaments so we'd just have to rely on text scores and not be able to look back at old t?- and k?- entries?

Most part of players erase their scores because this means lots of 0 point and it affects average on the leaderboard

Concerning Chris, he already erased all these entries in the "top3" section (scores3.html file) ; the debate is : shall we also erase in the marp uploading entries ?

I never liked keeping the tournament recordings around. I mean who really cares??? One exception is extraordinary performances and personal bests. Players wanting to keep these INPs should submit again using the actual game name (no tourney prefix). After the completion of tourneys and players have had a reasonable opportuntity to rename/resubmit, mass deletion of the remaining tourney INPs will occur.
