One down(nearly) Two to go

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

A few weeks ago I started a thread asking you to name three young players who would come to the fore in 2002, the question raised a good deal of interest and the response was good, my three were Raphael Van de Vart(knocking bet), Marinelli from the Boro and a young Spaniard from Livingstone who Steve Archibald brought over when he tried to take over Airdrie, David Fernandez . The buzz is that as soon as Roeder offloads DeCanio the bid is in from West Ham, with Arse and Pool in the wings, another loose cannon on whom I cannot fully make my mind up on is a center forward from the West Indies on loan to the Hearts, Richard Fuller, looks damm good , time will tell - 1 mill

Championship Manager often brings up canny players who turn out to be canny in real life. I'm trying to remember if any decent Scottish ones have cropped in my current game - only one I can think of is Gary O'Connor of Hibs. Dean Ashton of Crewe is one English-based teenager who seems to become a star of CM.

Fuller I don't know about, gets lots of good press but I read an Edinburgh paper so can't reallly tell. I'll ask my Hearts season ticket mate what he thinks

Fuller's on a free at the end of the season if my memory serves me right....

They were all about Fuller on the 3 Leg Ends last night. A fellow who had been talking up Jason Roberts before he joined West Brom was tipping Fuller to be the next big thing.

My Hearts pal ......

Fuller, well what can I say other than YOU CANNOT HAVE HIM !! He has played around 6 games for Hearts and must now be our top goal scorer, he is in a different class to the rest of the team which becomes obvious when watching him. I believe Tivoli Gardens is after around £1 Million for him which I think is not asking much for his skill and the obvious investment. I'm afraid Hearts will not be able to afford him leaving the squad floundering again. Did I mention he is only on loan. Grabbed this from the Hearts website. Name Ricardo Fuller click for a larger image Number 11 Position Striker Born 31.10.79 in Kingston, Jamaica Signed 18.10.01 Clubs Charlton Athletic, Tivoli Gardens Debut 21.10.01 against Hibernian at Easter Road (1-2) Profile Ricardo Fuller joins us on loan from Jamaican side Tivoli Gardens. The big flamboyant striker has already earned an excellent reputation around Tynecastle and the Gorgie faithful have warmed to him greatly following some marvellous demonstrations of skill and flare.

Ricardo started of his career at Tivoli Gardens and his sparkling form earned him a place in the Jamaican national side. This form did not go un-noticed and before long he found himself arriving at Charlton Athletic football Club.

Ricardo is a player who might have been at Tynecastle long before he was recruited by Craig Levein. Jim Jefferies attempted to recruit Fuller from under the noses of Charlton before he was signed for £1.2 million.

Following Charlton Ricardo returned to his home country. He has spent a trial period at Crystal Palace this year and Craig is currently trying to extend his current contract to keep him at Tynecastle until the end of the season.
