They are not the most highly thought of retailer in the world.

I have used Broadway. After shopping around, they had the best prices on cameras and lenses in general. However, after factoring in shipping cost, shiping time, customer service, availability of products, and web site quality, I have since changed to B&H (www.bhphotovideo.com), and use them exclusively for everything I order.

I think you should heed the previous advice and check B&H. Several years ago, I wanted to save as much as possible on a new camera and lens outfit. I checked the photo magazines and called the one with the lowest price. First they did not have in stock the lens I wanted but the camera was in stock. They would send it to me for the advertised price plus $90 shipping and handling. I called B&H, their price was higher but the shipping (by 3-day Fed Ex) was about $15 for the camera and the lens. It worked out to be about the same price overall and I got the equipment from a reputable company without the BS.

Two other places I have personally had very satisfactory business dealings with are Canoga Camera (www.canogacamera.com) and Adorama (www.adorama.com) I have also done business with B&H and been very pleased.

adorama and b&h are probably the best mail order retailers out there. i'd be wary of any other companies that ship out of new york b/c they tend to give false prices in their magazine ads and high shipping charges.

In addition to B&H and Adorama, I've had very good experiences with Cameraworld of Oregon. All three price aggressively and are relatively pain-free to deal with.
