what eos replaced eos 55 (50E)?

Hi looking at buying eos , have found Eos 55 (50e) with 28-90 ultrasonic lens for £370.oo I understand this camera has been discontinued. does anyone know what repalced it , and how the spec compares?( any improvements??) Not sure whether to go for this camera or hunt for newer eos model in sales!! your help would be grately appreciated nikky

Well, the EOS 50/55 was replaced with EOS 33/30. EOS 30 has Eye control, EOS 33 does not. I just bought EOS 30 and I'm very pleased with it (but I'm just a begginger in SLR).

I have an Eos 50 and I have found the camera to be fantastic. I didn't go for the Eye Control the extra dollars is just not worth it, unless you have money to throw around. Spend the extra dollars on the lenses, you'l be much happier..
