OK, here's how to get XP running with arcade@home

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MAME Action Replay : One Thread

Got it at last!

Right, download MAMEW57 and arcade@home, then click on 'Tools' and 'Configure Default Game Settings'

Then click on the 'NONE' button (Located to the bottom right of the panel)

When you have done this type the following in the 'add params' box: -scanlines -nohwstretch -joystick

Then save it!

I'm using a Gforce 3 with a 1024 live card...

Thats it!, mame runs with sound, joystick, scanlines along with a nice sharp picture!

Hope that helps someone with the same prob!

that was unsuccessful for me, using mamew AND mamed nothing happened when i tried to play a game, it blank screend (no errors shown) then came back to arcade at home. I can still invoke mamew from command line ok. are you saying dmame56 will work but you have to use the mamew57 version of 57?

Well i think i found out my troubles with dmame and xp with gg's help. dos mame does not work with sound and the audigy sound card. I'll just have to use dos mame with out sound, untill there is another way to get the audigy to map to one of the dos sound selections.

Note mamew works fine with sound for me, i just can't play back old dos mame inps that require sound... what does pwnz mean anyway?

What does it mean? It means this:

PUYO IS DEAD. SUPERMAN UNDEADS HIM.
