Trevor Francis...

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Sooper Trev (he hates us you know) was clearly in pain after the match, which was nice, and even better was watching Cockney Spanner Trevor Brooking taking a stab to the kidneys over the offside against Morrison (please note that no mention was made of the Palace player offside on the near touchline who was missed off on the half-field shot they used on MotD - although neither did they feel that either of our disallowed goals were worth investigating). Perhaps the best thing about Francis is that bucking the trend of new managers giving clubs a shot in the arm as everyone tries to impress the new boss, he has managed 2 wins, a draw and six losses since taking over. They were doing better without a manager.

Well, that's two less Xmas cards this year, Softie!

There is something vaguely reassuring about being hated by Trevor Francis.

Why has no media source picked up on the fact that we have had four goals disallowed in five games? Lucky? Us?

-- Anonymous, January 06, 2002

Hmm dougal, do you wonder why the media hasnt picked up on anything that would put us in a better light?

Usual biased crap with Brooking getting upset at their goal being disallowed. Why no showing of our TWO disallowed goals (would have liked another look as I wasn't in a position to judge) or the not- given penalty for the trip on Bernard which I saw very clearly - definite pen.

I have oft wondered what credentials Trevor Francis has to be a footy pundit - apart from being being a multiple-failure as a Nationwide Club Manager, and having a face like a smacked @rse.

That's a bit harsh on the smacked @rse.

Makes sick that half the gate money has to go to Crystal Palace..

-- Anonymous, January 06, 2002

I think CP deserved their gate money for the noise generated by their fans, pity it didn't rub off on the home fans they colourfully proclaimed as "Your support is facking shite".

It's hard to get too excited about playing team like Palace though.

No excuse really, but it would have been different if it was against the Mackems.

Yes it was exciting for them as they don't see Premiership opposition every week! Whereas we are not normally served up with Nationwide fare.

I consoled myself in the certain knowledge that we will make a lot more noise than them in Round 4. :-)

Why does France talk through his nose? I've often wondered. Living in the Midlands I am more than used to hearing him whingeing on the telly. Personally, I thought we beat 'em at a canter.

-- Anonymous, January 06, 2002

Tony, if that is how many they can bring for the biggest game of their season, they should question how great their own support is.

France, Jacko?

;-)

Sorry - very Freudian that don't you think?

Accepted, I'll be CLEMENT with you ;-)

Trevor Brooking was predictably outraged about Macclesfield having a goal wrongly disallowed for offside......oh, hang on, no he wasn't, he didn't breathe a word about it. Cockney w*nker.
