Interstate observances. No-ain't no preachin this time.

Well, I guess there is a market and a need for'm but it's kinda odd to see'm bein hauled down the interstate in the back of a big semi box trailer. Their pictures and model numbers were proudly displayed for all to see! They even come in different colors and, of course, styles and prices. Lil Dumplin and I were discussing the different aspects of own'n one and also wondered if they came "pre-smelled" so's they wouldn't have to be "broke in" by the consumer. We finally decided they probably did not come "pre-smelled" but rather left that for the new owner. Different folks, different likes and dislikes.

The prices were not displayed and I have absolutely no idey what they cost nor do I have any idey what options come with it. Carpet? Stereo? Televisons? Picture windows? Family room? How about Dish Network or Direct TV? I'm sure a/c and heat are available at an extra cost.

Well anyhow, we decided we would "pass" [ I can't believe I typed that] on the opportunity to purchase one as it'd just be an extra expense that we don't really need at this time. My taxes are already paid for this year and I don't really want to raise'm any next year. Home improvement? I guess so.

Oh, BTW--I forgot to tell ya'll what we saw--didn't I? Porta-Pottys, that's what!!

Old hoot, ain't touching that with a ten foot pole, gibson. Matt. 24:44

Reminds me of that stupid commercial where people are pulling porta- pottys down the road behind their car. It's for some kind of medicine, but I would think they could find a better way to advertise! I mean, do you really want to take medicine where that is their idea of something that might attract you?

Absolutely nothin' like 'em, when nothin' else is available.

I've seen trailers set up at events with multiple accomodations. They're the size of a semi trailer and are divided lengthwise front to rear inside and then each side has doors to each individual stall. Those look to be about four feet square each. When set up there are about four steps on each end up to a walkway in front of the doors on each side. To transport the unit the steps and walkways fold up against the sides and the whole thing is driven away. The one I saw had roof mounted heat and AC. All in all a pretty impressive bit of engineering.

When I was coming home from holiday visits, I think somewhere in Maryland or Pennsylvania, my husband and I noticed some corrections facility vehicles pulled over to the side of the road. It was a road gang that was apparently making a pitstop. They were towing their "rest area" on the back of a trailer they were pulling.
