Does it signify ?

Superkev's Italian boot sponsers have informed him that they will not be renewing their sponsorship deal because he's not scoring regularly enough and because there are doubts about whether or not he'll show in the world cup.

He says they're being petty.

My point is, should he (or any of them) care, other than financially, if they're downgraded to a lower class compartment on the gravy train ?

In a way it would be nice if he donned a new manufacturer's boots, went on a scoring spree and demonstrated how bad Diadora boots were!

on the other hand....

of course he should care.

his sponsor is saying he's yesterdays news, no longer a big time player, no more a pin up boy adorning the walls of young girls all over europe etc.

claiming they're being petty is a bit rich mind.

Must admit, it hadn't occurred to me that it might have something to do with the boots.

That being the case, though, why don't we do him a favour and have a word with Diadora about not withdrawing.

Sort of coitus uninterruptus. :-{E}

A penalty for him at last ...

If anything it will HARM Diadora sales, especially in Sunderland where I expect a mass boycott of their products.

Seems a bit harsh on Kev, who is undoubtedly a good player. When you consider Warren Barton is sponsered by adidas despite not even being in the side it makes it even more strange. Maybe he has a new deal lined up?

The wording of the report didn't give the impression he knew anything in advance.

He's been with Diadora since he joined us.

They wanted a years extension to his contract which he's turned down, and they werent happy about him wearing A pair of Predators for the Villa game, so a bit of sour grapes from Diadora, hence why SKP and PR has accused them in the press of being petty.

Rumours are that he'll announce his new boot deal over the coming week, after this story becomes old news.

Just goes to show Gav, the facts are all there, but the slant, or spin I suppose it is these days, makes SK look like a petulant kid.

Wankers.
