Robert back tomorrow?

According to Teamsqwak, he'll be back tomorrow. I bleeding hope so.

I suspect his bleeding @rse muscle hopes not!

However, he was deemed to have "recovered" from his torn @rse in about 3 days last time, so I suppose it is entirely logical for him to be deemed "recovered" from precisely the same injury after yet another three day absence!

This Club will never learn, no matter how many stupid mistakes they make - and irrespective of the fact that they have as a ready made standby a young player who has been playing well in his sub appearances, and is desperate to get a start.

'bleeding @rse muscle' - who was it who told him Newcastle's pink triangle was the place to live?

also, have you seen the Reunion Islands or been there? CHRIST it looks like paradise, lucky guy, or unlucky whichever way you see it!

we shouldn't need him to beat Palace. Dyer should rest as well (on the bench)

Agree Geordie

..... problem is Lee, Speed and Acuna are all doubtful for tomorrow, and Bassedas is off to Tenerife - lucky sod!

The thing is, there is a possibility that Speed and Lee won't play through injury and Acuna is still injured (I think) so we can't rest them all. As it is, I'm half expecting Warren Barton to play in the middle. In any event, some unfit players WILL be playing tomorrow. Sad but true.

It's not so much Robert playing tomorrow that I'm pleased about. It's the fact that he is getting fit. Equally, we can't blame NUFC for this because he saw his own specialist who told him exactly the same thing. If we were wanting to him play when he couldn't, we'd have surely played him against Man Utd. Is there a World Arse Muscle Specialist a la Steadman?

..........I'm sure there is a Dr. Anal Sphinctre at The Freeman!

World Arse Muscle Specialist, pink triangle clarky

Somebody call me, ducky?

Robert is definitely in the squad tomorrow.

(For some reason although our squad isn't up on .cockup, it is on page 516 of teletext.

And as far as i can see, we have our strongest squad out. (apart from Barton)

I would be very happy if we played the following team tomorrow:

Harper Hughes O'Brien Distin Elliot Solano Speed Lee Bernard Lua Lua Shearer with Karelse Barton Lua Lua and a couple of the youngsters on the bench.

Give Given and Bellamy the weekend off and rest a couple of the others. If we lose to Palace it won't be the end of the world. We need the likes of Dyer, Bellamy and Given to be at their best in january and February. Our best players need a rest. this is a perfect opportunity. BTW I included Elloit in the team in the hope that he gets his confidence back and remembers what he is paid to do ie play football and play it well 'cos at the moment he is shocking,

Sounds a good team Kegsy, but is it possible to play Luax2 and have him on the bench as you suggest?? Interesting ploy that one....

Well it was 3:30 on the morning when I wrote it...... ok stick Ameobi on the bench.

-- Anonymous, January 04, 2002

I would start with Ameobi who will probably be up for it trying to prove that he was worth his new contract. Lua Lua as well.

Palace a decent going forward but not too great defending so Lua Lua and Ameobi should find it good. Ameobi IMHO has come on leaps and bounds this season with his general all round play. He still looks a bit disinterested and lazy at times, but his hold up play and vision is much improved. Lua Lua has also come on quite a bit but he would need a decent run in the team to settle in with the current squad.
