BARTER ANYONE

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Hello here is what I have to barter. I have a brand new acoustic guitar and a black&dcker 12 volt cordless drill. I will try and describe the guitar the best I can.It is brand new in the box never used. It has a solid spruce top,the neck has an adjustable truss rod and is carved out of solid mahogany. The sides and back look like some sort of rose wood I'm not really sure what it is. I had my 26 year old nephew over to tell what he thinks of the guitar. He plays the guitar and owns many guitars. He played my daughters which is exatley the same (I have more than one) he said it is a nice guitar. I ask him if it was a good beginners guitar and he said "hey"its a good guitar for any one.He thinks the guitar would sell for around 250.00 to 300.00 dollars and it also comes with a coustom denier nylon carring case, and D'Addaro strings. So if you have a son or daughter who's thinking about the guitar or grandson or granddaughter this might be the trick. So if you would like to do some bartering here is what I'm looking for, I'm looking for a small gauge shotgun say a 410 or 28 gauge maybe a 20 gauge depending on the make. I have single shot 410 so I would like something diffrent. Would consider a nice 22 rifle or pistol or something world war two era, o heck will consider anything that shoots, just tell me what you have to offer. Now if you consider the trade out of balance ( ie yours is worth more ) I will come up with more barter or cash if thats what you want.So dig thru that colset or attic and see what you can come up with. Would make a great gift. I also have black& decker 12 volt cordless drills, brand new in the boxes with a charger comes with one battery. I believe thier called firestarters.I picked these items up thru a promotional deal. The guitar is foreign made. I might even consider ammo depending on cailber, gauge and quanity. So if you still have all that Y2K ammo still laying around, think about it. Please e-mail me at ghubbar@bellsouth.net I will also have nephew tune the guitar for you prior to shipping if you want to. Thankyou John H.

John, what kind of guitar is it? (Who was it made by?) You said acoustic, so you mean steel strings or nylon like a classical acoustic? I'm also assuming you are talking about a 6 string? Thanks

I purchased an acoustic 6 string for my daughter's Christmas present from a pawn shop (brand new) for $50.00. Considering I am on a very tight budget and worried about the cost I am now convinced I managed most excellent deal! My main word of caution to you would need to make certain of the gun laws in your state. The buying and selling of guns in many situations can only be done through a licensed gun dealer. To go around it means serious trouble. Know the laws for the state you are in and the state you would be dealing with.I have listened to my husband talk about this many times. He knows of a few people who got into trouble this very way...I would hope this wouldnt be one of those situations in the making.

Tammy,, thats not true,, as long as 2 people are "allowed" to own the gun, they can sell it,as long as they own it. Also,, as long as you only sell less than 3 a year. Beyond that,, you would need to go thru a dealer. If a state has a law about that,,its invalid,, the state cannot superscede the Fed law. I know this,, because I just recently let my FFL (federal firearm license) lapse,, got ot be too expensive,,I went from 10 dollars a year,,to 1,000 a year,, cant do that as a hobby,,if I dont make that.
