Hi all, Well we might have earlier kids then we thought. One of the girls is showing signs of getting ready a month earlier. Checked my calendar and she was in season 3 weeks before the one I witnessed her bred and I had made a note that the young buck was finally intrested in the girls. (He is the only one here this year so at least I know who bred her:) Can't wait for the new kids this year and I'm also thawing the last of the frozen goat milk today for us so I'm really happy that I won't go a month without milk!! Yeah. Just had to tell someone! Have a great day.

Shari my first doe is due to freshen on the 8th and I'm just beside myself. It's the best time of the year to me. I'm behind getting my kidding supplies together.

None of the girls here at the farm are kidding till March. I do have some sold to new customers kidding right now. It's still exciting for them to call "her udder is huge" "she is discharging do you think she will kid soon" "she ate her grain this morning, that means no kid today, right" but at least I don't have to go out to the barn in the cold to check on them, just the phone :) Tell us what she has Shari. Hmm. I have one due Monday. She started last night with the grunting and groaning, and occassionally making "pushing" sounds that make me perk up. But whenever we check on her, she is just as likely to jump up and greet us, and hasn't refused feed. Also, no mucous. I hope this means I don't have to go out in the bitter cold tonight! But I'd sure hate for her to drop kids in this cold without me there.
