"We just have to hope the others keep making mistakes to give us a chance and hopefully we can take that chance. It's nip and tuck and I don't think you can dismiss Newcastle. Their great support will make sure they go right to the wire."

fergie, has he gone soft?

Nah, he saw Solano shove his way to the ball for his disallowed goal and also Shearer's earlier push, no doubt about it.

He also talked about our pace being a major advantage. I think he's lost his marbles.

To be fair, Fergie's always had a soft spot for us, the fans anyway not the club. In his biog (I'm not sure which one) he says that when they won the league in 97 the only downside was that the NUFC fans deserved it. He likes the way we get behind our team instead of just slagging off the opposition. Maybe we should give him a job when he retires, he could understudy Bobby with a view to taking over in a few years.

So that's Beckham and Taggart complimenting us...come on Roy, you know you like us really :-)

I seem to recall Ferguson making similar noises in the 80s. Went something along the lines that if Manchester United fans thought their club had underachieved, and taken the loyalty of their supporters for granted, they ought to look at us and think again.
