VCR for Windows XP

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

Hi. I´m trying to make a VCR but a cant get it to work with my new Windows XP OS. Cant use Easy CD Creator 4 with XP and in the free version 5 there is no funktion to create VCR. Is there any program that I could use to get it to work with my OS.

Not to be rude, but you mean VCD, not VCR, which is a big difference :-) I don't run XP, but I have read that some people have had success running programs in Windows 98 compatibility mode under XP. Try that and it may enable you to use EZ CD Creator 4. Nero (www.ahead.de) works under XP. You can download a demo copy and try it for free for 30 days. Fireburner (www.fireburner.com) also works under XP, but it requires the use of additional programs, like VCDimager, to burn VCDs. Nero does not require the use of additional programs to burn VCDs and is much simpler to use.

I'm surprised you were even able to get EZCD 4 to work with XP. It won't run on my system. I've been looking for a resolution for this for three days - and it appears it is a MacIntosh resolution - rebuy the software in a newer version for the fourth time in three years. If it weren't for the fact that not every gaming company supports Linux yet, I'd be running Redhat on my primary machine right now. And I'm real close to doing it anyway.
