Optical and Build Quality of FD 135mm f/2.5 BL S.C.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon FD : One Thread

I recently ordered a Canon FD 135mm f/2.5 BL S.C. off the internet. I'm guessing the build quality is alright, considering the quality of the other breech-lock lenses I own (35mm f/2 S.S.C,and 50mm f/1.4 S.S.C). While its on the way, has anyone had any good experiences with this lens? How is it optically? Thanks.

James,

It's a big heavy lens! I also owned it's predecessor, the 135/2.5 FL series. Both have been favorites of mine, very happy with the pictures I've taken with them. I'm not a tester or nitpicker but I think it's a very good performer.

Mine was in the salt water, and I changed the aperture-blades. A two feet drop on concrete made an impact to the sun-shade. I changed it in for a 50-135/3,5. The pictures were sharp and with good contrast.
