Morgan USPS facility in NYC still contaminated -

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Current News - Homefront Preparations : One Thread

A friend at work heard Morgan mentioned on MSNBC during a show about 9-11 but couldn't recall when they said it was contaminated. She is wondering if this is a recent occurence.

I remember the big facility in NYC being contaminated, but I don't know if this is Morgan or not.

Does anyone remember?

Considering my own recent incident in light of this new information, I am proceeding thru the union here in to find out what to do next.

Unless the buildings are fumigated, I would think there will be a great many facilities with residual contamination for many years to come. Good luck!

You're right about that, I think. The big concern I have is the failure of the management types to follow their own protocols.

If management is so concerned with our welfare and safety, well, they aren't, apparently.

I edited the title since I found the article and answered the question.

It's been 45 minutes and still no call back from the union rep I left a message for.

spoke to the rep. they are checking into it. said they would get back to me, but didn't say when.

Barefoot, isn't it more a matter of what management at YOUR facility is doing? Last I heard that wasn't much and you were relying on the union to get their attention.

Indeed. Sorry if I mislead you to think I was talking about the Morgan Facility.

The two are connected in so far as how the management at Morgan is handling things compared to my facility. My facility is doing just as much, which in essence is nothing, and Morgan management is doing the same as far as employees are concerned.

They say that our safety is the top priority, but anyone can see that it isn't. Otherwise the Morgan facility would be closed and gassed just as the senate building was. And my facility would have the hazmat teams deployed whenever a suspicious letter was found.

If they want us to keep an eye out for suspicious letters and packages, then they should be ready to handle such items when we find them. It is that failure in my facility that bothers me to no end.

But, it is typical.
