strange pattern under UV-light with M6

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

last night i took pictures of my girlfriend under a sunbed. of course only for scientific reasons. (no, i won't post the pictures) when you look through the m6 viewfinder in strong UV-light, you see a strange pattern, kind of a fresnel lens. concentrical circles around the infinity position of the rangefinder. any explanations? is there a fresnel in the optical path of the viewfinder? maybe to increase the brightness of the frames?

I canīt see a fresnel glass in the M viewfinder, but I can imagine reactions to light of cemented elements in the M finder, or cleaning marks caused by excesive humidity.MHO
