Obviously I haven';t seen as many games as mpost on here. I have been limited to what Sky Japan feel is good enough for their knowlegeable (?) viewers. But without a shadow of a doubt Shay Given has to have been player of the season.

How many times has he saved us this season? How many goals has he prevented? He is without doubt the best goalkeeper in the premier league this year and is very much the reason why we are in the position we are. How many times has his mistake cost us? Once to my knowledge (against Chelsea). Bellamy has been a real asset - no dount about it but how many chances hashe missed?

Given has cost us 2 points this season and gained us many more. Bellamy has cost us a lot more than 2 points.

And no, I am not having a go at Bellamy he is IMHO our third best player this season behind O'Brien and a great signing by Robson. If he scored as many as he should he would be our best player but he is far too wasteflu for my liking.
