Valoy enlarger question

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

I am interested in doing B&W work in future. In addition to 35 mm I would like to do some medium format work.

My question is can you do medium format work with the Valoy enlargers ?

What is the difference between Valoy I and Valloy II ?

How do they compare to the Fococmat's Ic and IIc ?

What are the differences between the C version Focomat's and the A version ?

Your comments would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Tony Salce

Hi, I've owned a couple Valoy II's so I can comment on those. Neither can do medium format. I think the II is just an upgrade, I have this one. It differs mostly from the Focomats in that they are manual focusing as opposed to auto focus Focomats. If you want to do medium format with a Leitz enlarger I believe you'll need the Focomat IIc and that along with a filter drawer is the main differences between the Foccomat 1c and IIc, although they appear to be totally different looking critters. C and A vertions, ya got me there. HTH W

I'm looking for a negative carrier format 135 for Valoy basic enlarger. Not expensive if possible. Somebody can help me ?

The largest you can do on the Valoy is the superslide which is in between 35mm and 2 1/4 neg size.V-2 head tips back...and advantage. 2-c does all the formats to 6x9.
