Where to find Patu dealer (log hauler) (Trees)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I know where the local Patu distributer is, but not the dealers. I'm interested in buying one of there combination loader/trailer with the optional 9-18hp power pack. BTW, buying one used is going to be difficult simply due to the fact small logging equipment just became available in the last few years according to an article I read on the interne and is manufacturer over in Europe. Thanks in advance!

Are you sure you need one? I use a winch on the back of my tractor for 8 years now.I know what the phamplets say,I sent for them. Good agurment about ground damage from dragging the logs, but I've been at this for 8 years and have done very little damage to my land. I don't go in after a rain. I have a big hill I twitch my logs down too.I can pull out a cable and twich my tree to me without much damage. With trailer I would have to either cut a road to every tree or knock every thing over to get to it since you have to pull up along side of it.In a tree plantion that would work out well, but for what I need it wouldn't. Takes alot of room to turn that rig around too. I know it can be done because I have a woods trailer, not that easy at times. I would have one if I thought it would help me and make it easier.I'm REAL fussy with my land. I don't leave a mess in the woods when I get done cutting down trees. Just my ideas on working in the woods. I do sell to lumber yards too. Ray The Farm
