Jan van Halst can make the younger players better with all his experiance.I am glad that Ronald Koeman took him back.Every team needs a "Killer"like van Halst to make sure you all so win when you not play that well!

Anybody who watched John O'Brian play in the World Cup should realize that he fully deserves to start over Jan van Halst. He wasn't the most explosive player but showed he was very dependable and capable of holding a starting position for Ajax.

Every time i check the Ajax roster i hope not to see the regretable name of 'Jan van Halst'. Last season he was the most responsible cuplrit in turning the ball over and making defensive errors. He should not be granted 1st team football at a great club like Ajax and should not be granted 1st team football in any league except the Luxemburg league (where has been losers like ex-Liverpool striker Karl-Heinze Reidle find joy in bagging seven goals a game past a half soccer player half cab driver goal keeper). A great person to be used instead of van Halst is John O'Brian. A very capable fully capped USA international. As fans of Ajax we deserve better than a wanna be Danny Mills like Jan van Halst. Common O'Brian!

Jan van Halst may not be the most technical skilled player, but he can be an important player for AJAX!! Het is a player with fighting spirit who never gives up. He can take the team to an higher level with that. Withuot muscles and fighting spirit no technical team will make it to the top. Respect for Jan!!!!!

He's an average player, which you cannot always count on. Hasn't got the class, hasn't got the speed. Jan van Halst is just NOT good enough to play at Ajax.
