Spartus 120 flash camera

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Repair and Use of Antique Cameras : One Thread

I recently picked up an old spartus 120 flash camera (without the flash). This is a simple (off-set rangefinder) box camera that offers no settings. what is the aprox. shutter speed and "F" stop.

Thank-you,

Hi, Stromme, I have a Spartus 120 flash as well, but I'm not sure if we have the same model. Is yours a brown bakelite, with a slight curvature on the sides? If so, and there's no guarantee that I'm right, I would hazard a guess that the aperture is f/11 and the shutter speed is between 1/25 and 1/50.

By the way, I don't have the Spartus Press Flash camera anymore (see other thread) - I was able to sell it at my online shop (www.rubylane.com/shops/picturethis). I still have the album for it though, at picturetrail.com under my member name, mariner8378. I used a variety of film speeds in it, with varying degrees of success.
