You can get bentonite at some lumber yards or from water well drilling companies.

Bentonite is a clay like substance that expands greatly when water is introduced. As water is introduced the Bentonite expands closing up the cavity. It is used among other things to seal up a well casing that is no longer going to be used. Some areas require the well to be filled with concrete, other areas allow the Bentonite.

Did this on my former residence that is why I know what it is.

Talk to you later.

I saw some yesterday at the feed store. Advertising it for use as cat litter?? We used it once for a we drilled well, and I've heard of people using it to seal ponds.

I used to work at a landfill as the gas manager. When the landfill was being constructed we used bentonite as an antiseep colar on the gas and leachate lines. Seems to me we got it at a concrete company.

I've also read that it can be used as a sealer for ponds. You rototill it in from what I remember.

I live a couple miles from where it is mined (In Minnesota), the rail cars probably spill more than you need - but don't know where it's sold! :)

Victor, I have Bentonite Clay available, you can eat it or use it for well pipes etc - whatever you need to do with it. In case you are wondering, 1 tsp of Bentonite has the cleasning power of about 9 football fields when eaten. It will extract toxins in your body. My price (SMR) is @ $14.40/lb. Depending on your use and quantity would dictate lower prices. Thanks and Happy New Year Bruce
