Leica adapters, which exist?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

Hi all

What Leica R-adapters do exist? I mean 1.4x, 2x and macro. are there M-R converters?

I found several adapters on the web but it seems some belong to just some (set of) lense(s). Is there an overview of that somewere?

I just checked the R system catalog (by a href="http://www.leica-camera.com/produkte/rsystem/objektive/pdf/index _e.html">going here and opening the catalog as a PDF file); the 1.4x and 2x 'adapters' you mention, Reinier, are teleconverters, and the Macro-Adaptor R is an extension tube (basically usable with all R lenses).

T2 adaptors to use a Leica SLR on an astromonic telescope or microscope should be available somewhere. Wrt adaptors for use of Leica M lenses on SLRs, we're talking about 27.80 vs. 47.00 mm of mount to film plane distance, so they're simply not feasible. The other way round--yes, e.g. via Stephen Gandy (click here and scroll down) or Novoflex (a href="http://www.novoflex.de/english/html/products.htm">click here and continue to 'Adapters'). Of course, you have no rangefinder coupling then. Perhaps we could be of more help if you told us what exactly you want to do?

I apologise for the bad html. Allow me to try once more for your comfort:

I can remember a time when camera dealers and photographers referred to Leica as "the adaptor factory".
