Ilford Ortho Plus

I am hoping to use some Ilford Ortho Plus sheet film soon and wondering what film developer do other people use? Does it respond like older type emulsions to various developers (just without the red sensativities).

also, ilford has no pdf on thier website. actually no info at all. has anyone seen one of these lying around the web somewhere?

Orthochromatic films are normal films, they actually are more normal than the panchromatic ones, since they do not contain sensitizing dyes that make them be sensitive to colours they normally should not be (like red, for instance). Some of them are made to give high contrast images, but not the Ilford one. I think you can develop it in virtually any film developer. If I find the film's data sheet, I can send it to you as a PDF document.

I have used this film quite a bit and have processed it in various developers, inc. PMK.I rate it @80 asa in daylight and 40asa in tungsten. It has seemed to me to be a very flexible film and I have always been pleased with the end result....nice,waxen skin tones. The data provided by Ilford on the box is limited, but it does provide recomended dev. times in a variety of developers.email me if you want these, but I doubt they will really help you.Experiment is best.

sounds great. so i'll just go nuts with it. was worried that maybe it needed some special processing or something. i really like the idea of being able to easily inspect while developing. and the ortho look is a huge plus. thanks.
