Click sound when turning shutter speed dial…

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

I just got a brand new M6TTL.85. When I turned the shutter speed dial from OFF position to 1000 (1/1000s) and back to OFF position for the first few times, I heard a click sound at 8, 4…some time at 2 and even at 1. After trying few more times, I heard nothing and the shutter speed dial seemed smoother than before. So is this normal on a new M? Does it require a “break in” time? Thanks in advance for responding my questions…

Use it and do not worry about it unless it is not working properly. The M cameras are mechanical and make all sorts of interesting clicks and buzzing. You get use to it.
