I am looking for the differences in the rebel G and rebel 2000? Does anyone know? Are there major differences? So far the only difference I've found is the body style.

The Rebel 2000 is a tad lighter (im not sure how lightyou can get) the 2000 is about 4 years newer than the Rebel G (1996?) the 2000 also offers 7 AF points compared the G's 3 points (this means faster Auto focus speeds), also the rebel 2000's external battery pack has a vertical shutter release button (thats if you really need it).

I'm sure theres more to point out (if anyone else can help) Hope this helps.

Ps. I've used both and there isn't really much difference. I now use an Elan 7 and have my rebel as a back-up (ie. meaning its gathing dust in my camera bag. =)

As was mentioned, the Rebel 2000 is a bit smaller/lighter and has seven AF points instead of three. It also uses smaller batteries that don't last as long, and it has a button for depth of field preview. Other than the battery issue, it generally a better camera.

One significant technology difference is that the Rebel G has a six zone evaluative metering sensor and the Rebel 2000 a 35 zone. What difference it makes in terms of performance I don't know. In theory the R2K is harder to fool in backlit situations and so on.
