A simple, but thoughtful Christmas gift

A friend of mine knows that I love the "Baby Blues" comic strip. She also knows that we don't get the paper. So she cut out the strips and pasted them in a paper-back composition book for me. I was really thrilled! She even enlarged a picture of the mom with the two kids in a shopping cart to paste onto the cover and make it more professional looking.

I love that comic strip! My husband just doesn't get it, but then he's not at home with them all the time, either!

My favorite is one I cut out and tacked up to my bulletin board next to the computer. The mother announces she is going to the garage to get a screwdriver, then leaves the room. On the way, she wipes smudges off the wall, picks up toys in the hallway, puts a stray sock in the wath, and then gets to the garage and just stands there looking bewildered. When she gets back to the living room (still looking bewildered), the little girls says "A screwdriver". She heads back down the hall, thinking "My kids...the objects of my affection, and the destroyers of my short-term memory".

Sums up my life exactly!
