i would like to know, if the eos 3 has the same protctions against water/sand as the eos 1n? thanks,m.s.

Canon claims the EOS 1N and 3 have the same level of dust and moisture seals. Also, in my experience this is a very well sealed camera. I've gotten it very wet and covered with salt spray many times with no ill effects.

I'll vouch for a third yes. And I find the plastic shell better, it doesn't dent, stuff bounces off it.
