Leeds fans

nufc.com reports Leeds fans chanting some pretty rotten stuff about the trial (see the site for yourselves) and this has been confirmed by mates who were there. Nice.

I would like to think if a NUFC player was involved in a serious incident that was racist in origin and involved serious violence, we wouldn't welcome him back with quite the same acclaim afforded to Bowyer. Leeds fans praise of Bowyer is bad enough but to then chant offensive songs about the trial etc is just reprehensible.

We all know footballis about 'gallows humour' at times but even Leeds supporters don't have the common sense or basics of humanity to recognise that maybe this was going too far.

I hope their stinking team win eff all this year.

Lynda, I agree but I don't think Toon fans excatly covered themselves in glory singing "Racist Leeds United" especially the bloke in front who was deeply offensive about a Leeds player about two minutes player.

I agree Dougal. That guy in front of us was well out of order. Also, not hapy with the "RLU" one. Quite happy with "Hey, Lee Bowyer" mind. Good old footy humour, that one ;-)

Screach, I was quite proud of you for having the balls to tell the bloke to shut it...

That Leeds chant is bloody disgraceful. It's basically a racist chant - if someone shouted that at SJP the stewards would be escorting a lot of people out of the ground.

I was sickened to see Bowyer get such a hero's welcome.
