Fun things to do on the Saturday before a Tuesday Christmas

Oh yes, tis the season for all sorts of fun things to do and see.

This one tops them all, though.

Try and reach your contractor to get an electrician to come to your house and repair the shorted water heater timer that was installed after your last fire in that room.

Yep! another fire. this one was contained inside the metal box of the timer for the water heater, fortunately. But try as we might, we couldn't get the electrician to fix it. Nor the contractor company to call us back about it. Insurance wasn't too helpful but tried and tried.

We finally called Sears and they sent this really nice electrician dude out. He bypassed the timer [or rather what was left of it], and replaced the used circuit breaker in our brand new circuit panel.

Needless to say, I suspect that phones are going to be ringing around here on Monday. I know I'm going to be making a few calls to certain people on Monday morning.

I'm sorry to hear about this latest misfortune. I'm glad that everyone is okay! Talk about sloppy workmanship. You could've had another house fire and been homeless at Christmas.

Good luck buring up the phone lines this close to Christmas. You may have to wait until Tuesday before anything gets rolling. I think just about everyone who can has taken Monday off.
