You hear a lot of pople saying if we won the league it would do more damage than good? Dabizas has said "We are not ready" to win the title. I don't think we have much chance of doing it but how on earth could it be a bad thing? The expectation and support is there, the team is obviously there if we do win it, or we wouldn't have won it... If it's beause our squad isn't big enough then that is solved by all the extra money that goes along with winning the league. Gates for champs league matches, season tickets waiting list soars up, Full attendances, And I'm pretty sure you get Xmillion pounds for every round that you progress in the champs league. And don't you get money for winning the title? Put it this way if we did win the league we'd be loaded. If we're loaded we can strengthen our squad. So how could winning the league damage us in the future? I know there's probably something I haven't thought of, so please tell me if you know why winning the league this year would be bad. Or what Nikos means by that.

Yes it would be terrible if we won the league - I would refuse to go again and rip up my season ticke in disgust!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW - too much 'bigging up' of the Toon on TV, radiio etc, I just hope we can keep it up.

it would be awful if we qualified for the CL and even worse if we won the league, it takes a few years to get used to the CL and I 'd hate us to have to go into as Champions and maybe not win the thing, particularly as the final is in Manchester next year and we could all go.

I think most of the team is just quietly trying to talk expectation down, in their own way. Of course it would not be harmful to win the title.
