Hi,

Phew... just made it before the end of the year.

Be the very firsts to know and enjoy - and have a merry x-mas!

Yours, Lutz.

Where's the red dot...?

I'll have to think about this one although I have been very staisfied with your other products. I have the sling and shade. The shade stays on all the time and has reduced the dreaded Leica finder flare as stated. Keep up the good work.

Just think, if you put the word "Leica" on your products, you could sell them for 700% more!

Seriously, Lutz, I am always impressed with your creativity. Between you and Tom Abrahrammson, the leica world is always changing for the better.

Love the animation-especially the glint of flash reflecting off the front ring. But then, one would expect nothing less from a master film maker.

Lutz, I have your SHADE and it is terrific. Just two questions.

1. Even the animation seems to reveal some splashback from the SFILL. Does this not affect the auto-exposure?

2. Is the TTL fill flash (- flash compensation) affected by the SFILL?

Lutz, you make simple effective and practical stuff - just like Leica only inexpensive. G'donya! (Australian)

I have and use the sling, shade and slide. The sling lets me rip the M6 out of the bag like a six-gun with complete security. I know some say they don't need help holding an M, but they are the reckless types who would probably trust the handle on a beer mug!

Now I'll have to buy an SF20 so I can use the SFILL. See what you've done?! Season's Greetings

Lutz,

I'm in bud! Just ordered mine today.

BTW: I also ordered two hooks as well to replace the el' cheapo keyring QRs that I've been using... one of which failed on me tonight. Are these things tested out for the weight of an M camera/lens combo? I guess we're talking about 1.1 kg max (more with an Abrahamsson Rapidwinder).

I think I must be into the photography MORE than the equipment now... 2 years ago if I dropped one of these M bodies with a 75 lux attatched to it my heart would've stopped....Tonight, my first reaction was: sh*t! I should share with the board sometime my vest "rig" that I'm using right now. Stealthy, cameras are always ready AND tethered.

Jack Ruby would be proud.

Cheers,

Thanks everybody for your warm welcome! Mani, the animation, ahemmm... the reflection on the front ring was meant to make it more lively, imitating a reflection from the object photographed... There is in fact a reflection towards the auto cell which will be read in auto mode - unless you shade it off with the help of the tiny shade that comes along with the SFILL - it just wasn't mounted when I took the demo snaps. I'm not quite sure though about your TTL remark - could you try to explain? TTL reading is perfect, anyway, as the the SFILL screen remains perfectly off frame. Cheers.

i'd like to see before and after example photos.

Hi, This is the first time I write to this forum which I have been reading for the past month. I was on the LUG for a few years but not any more, not having the time to go through all the emails coming in. What I prefer about this forum is a more direct approach to Leica photography. This said, I have to congratulate Lutz K. for his brilliant ideas on how to improve M photography. The best designs are always the most simple. I just signed up with Paypal so I could order one SFILL in January. This is a really practical solution to improve this nice little flash.

Lutz, thank you, that answers my poorly articulated question. I was wondering if any of the light splashback would affect the TTL reading but obviously not if the light source is out of the frame.
