Anelka Signs for Liverpool!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Amazing as it may seem, Nicholas Anelka has signed for Liverpool - on loan until the end of the season with a view to a permanent transfer.

Seems risky to me, but I suppose they get the benefit of working with the tosser for 5 months before having to make a firm decision.

Hmm - didn't waste much time replacing Fowler. It is likely to work - he's a Frog and so is Houligan. He played well under Wenger until he hoyed his toys oot.

Its a brave move - the guy is brilliant but a liability. If his brothers have stayed in Paris it could be the thing that pushs Pool that last bit.

They've also signed another striker as well - Czech I think. So that makes 5 they've got - Littmanen, Owen, Heskey, + these 2.

Littmanen seems to be out of favour. Not sure why - I thought he was canny.

When I saw the thread title, I had to check my calendar to be sure it wasn't April Fools Day! Be interesting to see if he renews his 'friendship' with the English media. ;-)

Watched Liverpool getting turned over by Chelsea. Heskey + Littmanen both played very deep. When Liverpool countered (as they are want to do) you looked for someone making runs near the box but with Owen rested and F****r gone there wasn't anyone. Whatever Anelka's reputation off-the-pitch if they can get the best out of him on it, it could be a massive signing.
