In addition to my B&W developing,I wish to try E6. Has anyone done at home E6 developing using the kits available? Is it worth the trouble and expense. I presently pay $6.00 for one roll of 120 to be developed and of course pushing adds an additional $2.00

Thanks and have a Merry Chirstmas Don

Depends on the value of the kit and how many rolls you can process. I did this many years ago when I first started.....it was simple and fun, all you need to be very accurate about is the tempertature, if you keep your tank in a water bath at the temperature required you will be successful. The one I used was the Beseler 4 step...and then I think they came out with a 2 step. In any case, give it a shot, I think you will enjoy it.

I'm going to have a go at this too, and it's got nothing to do with money, I just want to try it!

I as well played with E6 about 16-20 years ago. I remember the joy of seeing full color film on those reels when I opened the tank. It required good temperature control (a bit smelly), but that was about it.

Recently, looking for some old materials, I ran across the hand done E6, and what would you know, they still look great and don't seem to have been effectived by time, so the kit must have been OK in terms of longevity.

I use to do E6 in a small (very) bath room, used a small pan for a waterbath and just added water to keep temp somewhat constant..never had any problems. The old slides still look good. Used the older Kodak hobbie paks, they no longer make them. But as mentioned in a previous post --- what a blast!! Give it a try and Good Luck.

Great responses. Thanks, I'll give it a try. Merry Christmas. Don

Wouldn't it be cheaper to take it to Wal Mart?
