A very bunker Christmas to you too...

I'm having trouble with the spam and baked beans. What better opportunity to indulge in your favorites. For me that's greasy Lays potato chips and a dip made from real cream cheese, a can of minced clams, and maybe some oregano, soy sauce and lemon juice.

Man rents bunker to escape Christmas

By Reuters, 12/21/01

LONDON -- A British man is heading underground behind blast-proof doors and 10-foot-thick concrete in a bid to escape the stresses of a family Christmas.

Colin Wood, a 30-year-old financial services worker, has coughed up $430 to spend two weeks alone in a decommissioned nuclear bunker in Essex east of London.

He has even foregone traditional Christmas fare -- opting instead for a diet of Spam, baked beans and tap water.

"He certainly seems to be a little bit disillusioned with Christmas," bunker owner Michael Parrish told Reuters.

Wood was one of 50 would-be bunker dwellers who bid at Internet auction site www.bid-up.tv to hire the site where even Santa is unlikely to venture.

He must have figured out that he had no chance of getting laid this year.

LOLOL.

Just realized, I made it back from the grocery store without picking up Lays P.C.s, cream cheese, (lots of canned clams in my preps already). Maybe I'll make it through the weekend yet... (Don't tell Barefoot, I've been giving all my chocolate away...)

I can't complain at all this year: I knew it'd be a sparce company year, with some folks not wanting to either fly or drive. I decided to remodel my bedroom (I'm currently waiting for the first layer of patching plaster to dry). That sort of heavy work discouraged the rest, as well as some local people, who really have nothing better to do than hang around and waste my time. LOL! I haven't heard from one of them since I announced the start of this project. Too scared I might hang 'em a brush and say Go to It! (Heheheheheheheheh)

Nobody wants to stay with us since we got all these cats. I wonder why, lolololol! Actually, we got rid of the spare bed and discourage visitors.

With that many cats, how do you know it was a spare bed?
