Does anybody know the difference Between the EOS 3000, the 3000n, and the 3000n QD, or if there's any difference at all?

I don't find any mention of a 3000N on the sites I looked at, but if it's made, the "N" designation means it's an a newer model. Like the 1000 became the 1000N, and the 500 became the 500N. Don't know what the improvements would be though.

The QD designation means it has a date feature, so you can print the date (and maybe the time) on your images if you want.

The 3000N has E-TTL flash and comes in a silver paint job, unlike the 3000. It also has AEB, a night idiot mode and manual focus point selection.

I've only seen the 3000N advertised in Canada with the cheapo 28-80 kit lens - I've never seen the body available separately, though it may well be in other Canon jurisdictions.

Sounds like the 3000N is very much like the previous EOS 500N/Rebel G. That would make sense, as the 3000 was very much like the older 500/Rebel XS (no E-TTL flash metering and no manual AF point selection).

I could never recommend the 3000 (or the 5000 before it), but it sounds like Canon has upgraded the 3000N to be an nice entry level camera. But there would still have to be considerable cost savings to recommend it over the EOS 300/Rebel 2000. Nice little camera, that one.
