You didn't take today off?

-- Anonymous, December 21, 2001

No. I have few days left, and they're all going to my days off next week. Hopefully we'll get to leave early, because I still have to go get new tires and run errands and be at the airport by 8:30

What are you and Sima doing for New Year's?

-- Anonymous, December 21, 2001

I'm in! And hoping to be out by 11. I think we're all leaving early today, which is good because NONE OF US ARE PACKED, y'all.

We are the Lazy Chaos.

Something at the Capitol Hilton ... it's one of those New Year's Extraveganza! things.

Oh, the MOC and I aren't packed, either. I have not wrapped a single present. He is going into spreadsheet-meltdown, though. He wanted to leave TONIGHT.

DUDE. That's like an 8 hour drive! He's trippin'. So, we have to do everything in the world tonight and we're leaving tomorrow. I am in Total Denial.

I can't believe I have to go hang out with the Huffs and I am not nervous. I mean, I have never met his sister and I've seen his parents a total of one time.

Also, I'm really trying now to get into the holiday spirit. It's a struggle.

Man... after today, we will be in sporadic MATH contact! Sad! Everybody has to check in, right?

That should be fun.

AB - I'm not packed either. Don't know when I'm going to do that. But at least I did laundry and washed the dog last night. That's something.

Also, Berman, you have to take your cell phone to the Extravaganza!!, because there will be oh, so many people there you will want to make fun of.

I've done a hotel thing before for New Year's - I sang at one two years running in Dallas - and it's an insane thing. Tons of people who don't know each other, crammed into a hotel, drunk as skunks. So much people watching to be done.

Yeah, we'll see how it goes. Friends are also throwing their traditional party in Rockville, so if the hotel really sucks we'll just go there or something.

The "that should be fun" was in response to Mike, not the MOC in spreadsheet overload.

I too am not nervous about meeting Eric's folks. Maybe I'm also in denial. But how can you be nervous about meeting a man who nicknamed HIMSELF the Walligator?

Mike, I stayed in the Capitol Hilton once - I thought it was very nice.

I'm packed, but I didn't get into work until 10:30. I was up until 3 this morning doing what? Not packing, that's for sure. But I do have a lovely manicure, and the gifts for Chris' secretary and his paralegal are beautifully wrapped. I'm leaving the office at 3:30 today - we're on the 6:30 to Dulles.

You have my cell number, right?

-- Anonymous, December 21, 2001

798-5812?

-- Anonymous, December 21, 2001

Exactly correct. 703 area code.

-- Anonymous, December 21, 2001

Damn y'all. I needs a nap. Plus, I'm really bored.

-- Anonymous, December 21, 2001

Well, I just got back from a dr. appt. Went to see a counselor. Made him cry. Got some drugs.

It's been quite a day.

-- Anonymous, December 21, 2001

Al! Making the counselor cry. What a day, indeed.

I'm glad you got you some meds, baby. You needed them anyway, because of your pre-tragedy crazinesses.

-- Anonymous, December 21, 2001

AB! Are you still at work?

-- Anonymous, December 21, 2001

I am! Damnit. We had a loooooong-ass meeting, and then went to lunch, and blah! I am ready to go!
