Quote of The Day

Diplomatic Career Arc Hits The Wall Citation:
(Israel is a) "shitty little country that threatens the world with a third world war."

--Career diplomat Daniel Bernard, French ambassador to the UK at dinner party of Press Baron Conrad Black and his wife Barbara Amiel, London Daily Telegraph columnist.

Osama and personal driver getting out of town.

First She Says She Will, And Then She Won't: Three days running, Congressperson Nancy Pelosi has dropped Gary Condit like a hot rock, then corrected that position saying he has always had her long time support. Now, it seems, she's back to the hot rock position. Meanwhile, back at the Levy's house....

What IS It With The Kennedy's? Page 6 has a semi-demi-sex tape scandal for us this morning. Michael Kennedy's maid found a tape of the dead Kennedy having sex (while he was alive) with three different women and apparently has sold the fact of it to the tabloid Globe. Seems the shocker is that none were his wife. Oooooooh-kay.

Saddam's Song Bird: An Iraqi defector, who says he not only built Saddam Hussein's first whirlpool bath but helped put together biological, chemical and nuclear projects as well, is singing the grisly details to American authorities. Judith Miller has the story in the New York Times. Has the On to Baghdad build up begun?

The Story Behind the Story: All of the stories about defector dude John Walker Lindh say that he turned to Islam in l997 after reading the autobiography of Malcolm X. This week a San Francisco Examiner gossip writer reported that in l997, John Walker's father left the family to move in with another man described as a family friend and it was that event that startled and flustered the 16-year-old. Now the writer is being targeted for hate mail for his "disgusting attack" on the family from people who live in the gayest town in America and apparently want things both ways.

LDot Kudos: To Bernard Goldberg whose book "Bias" will debut this Sunday at #13 on the Times best-seller list. It took a considerable amount of bravery for Bernie to write this book and he is rightly being rewarded for it.
