Can anyone tell me how I would go about complaining about bad service from a solicitors?

My car was crashed into in July and still I await the cheque despite constant promises of delivery.Tommorrow is the deadline for the latest ,latest delivery date if you get my drift.

Write to the Law Society and file a complaint in the first instance. They are much more receptive nowadays about complaints although they are much more receptive about bad advice than about the solicitors in question just being generally annoying. Will mail you offline with details.
