A question on a Leica M advertisement.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

On the latest NG Colector´s Edition Vol.1- 100 Best Pictures, there is a Leica M ad on page 70, a picture of Willian Albert Allard; do you consider this picture was made with a 35/1.4 asph wide open?

In the previous pages (68) a picture of our friend David Allan Harvey on duty; what is he carring arround his neck, a M with 50/1.4 can be seen, then his rigth hand is holding a M with an external finder on it, probably a 28, and I can see another body, probably another M with a 35. For me he looks in heaven.

Dear friend Roberto, Slightly off topic here; I have not received my 100 Best Pictures yet, but I have excellent images to proof that 35/1,4 ASPH is GREAT.

Last time I take a photograph in Bali; the scene is a Balinese temple surrounding by large trees, there are early morning mist and the sun is behind one of the trees. I take a low angle to emphasize the tree . Results: there are nice halo between the leaves; sparkling… A pro guy give a comment when I was in the lab: “Looks you are using an Infrared film, aren’t you?’ -- ”No, I am using Ilford Delta 100” I wish I have a scanner to show you here..

Just a joke Roberto: How dare Leica sell a lens more expensive than a body! It must be good enough, otherwise..hmmm!

Best wishes for the Seasons,
